Tending To the Practical Issues
Saying goodbye to your beloved pet also means tending to all the practical issues such as ending all of the services and products that you may have used for them such as pet insurance, grooming appointments, monthly subscriptions, etc.
Here is a list of services and subscriptions to cancel:
Pet insurance
Chewy, Bark Box/Meow Box, etc
Stopping automatic refills on food, cat litter, poop bags, treats, toys, etc., being shipped to your home
Flea and tick medications, or any other medications that have been shipped to your home
Contacting your pharmacy if your pet had any medications you picked up there (I would get ongoing text reminders from CVS asking me if I wanted my dog’s Gabapentin refilled, for months after he died, and it was really upsetting)
Emailing your vet to make sure you are removed from their automated vaccine or appointment reminders
Letting grooming services know
Letting any specialists know (such as an oncologist, neurologist) etc., so you don’t get email reminders from them about upcoming appointments
Letting dog walkers, pet sitters, doggy daycare know
